That’s one way to guarantee a win.

So I’m looking at this year’s Annie Award Nominees to see who’s up for what. Happily, on the theatrical side, “Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit” is up for a boatload of awards, and on the TV side, so is “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends”.

In the category “Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production”, there are four nominees: Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Peter Sallis and Nicholas Smith. Yeah. All the nominees are for “Wallace and Gromit”. No other animated film is even nominated. Personally, I’m pulling for Sallis.

In all, W&G is up for sixteen Annies. Mainly, I don’t envy the voters their choice in Best Feature Director, as their choices are Miyazaki Hayao for “Howl’s Moving Castle”, Tim Burton for “Corpse Bride” and Nick Park and Steve Box for Wallace and Gromit.

“Foster’s Home” is (deservedly so) up for Best Animated TV Production, and a handful of others. Woo!
