Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.

Connecticut decides to go with a real Democrat this November. I’ve been annoyed with Joe since he took out liberal Republican icon Lowell Weicker by running at him from the right, gaeve him a pass in 2000 in the face of a greater enemy, and now can’t wait to see the end of his career. Of course, since his personal power is far more important to him than the party he claims to represent, he both conceded and announced his independent run this fall.

Joe: do us all a favor. Just switch parties already. At least have the courage of your convictions.

Gives you an idea as to why I hate Blair so much. I have never known any politician successfully hi-jack a party to that extent before.

Labour would never have taken power with the likes of Neil Kinnock at the helm, though. Blair, the UK’s version of Bill Clinton, was in the right place at the right time, post-Thatcher.

Shame there is so little difference between himself and Thatcher as well. At the moment, we have a choice between two right wing parties, three if you count the now Orange Book obsessed Liberals.

I’d rather have a party that I can feel comfortable voting for never having a sniff of power. As opposed to one that has sold its soul in an almost Faustian pact in order to gain power.

At least the Tories gave out tax breaks in the wake of their asset stripping. Labour continue the asset stripping and RAISE tax.

Welcome to our world. What they call ‘liberal’ here now, they called ‘slightly right of center’ twenty-five years ago. This is the main reason I oppose the DLC, even though President Clinton was their poster child: their stated purpose was to drag the party rightwards, and to their eternal shame, they have successfully done so.

Just so you’re aware, my good friend from C.O.W. Aldon was working on the Lamont campaign, and there was much rejoicing heard in CT.

I remember Aldon–y’all introduced me on his visits back to Woo. Scary brain, he has–made the mistake of playing chess against him once when he was visiting while Jim Denne was working on his senior exhibition. I only made one tactical error… agreeing to play him. ;)

      Is this him?

This is indeed him. He and you and TJ and Munch and Denne and Andrew/Amy and I all have scary brains. We are all wired well, but in different ways. Jousting him in politics is equally scary, but I manage to hold my own on occassion, jousting him in the spiritual he is just as strong. I once said he was my better to one who knows us both well. This friend said we are neither better are strengths are different as our journeys and purposes are different. Yes this is indeed him, the first to call me friend at WOO, the one of few who still hold true. He is my brother, and I am his, just as I consider you brother. Our stars are ascending even now.

Wow, I hadn’t thought of the old gang in ages. The Woo folk I’m still in touch (other than yourself) with came along after y’all had graduated… below is a fellow Scot, for one… one of the almost-as-old gang, I guess I could call them, along with (to whom I bequeathed the ‘I Am A Typical Wooster Student’ t-shirt) and . :)

I’m smellin’ a Ralph Nader. Sure, asshat. Scuttle that Demo seat in the seanate ’cause you’re a power hungry republican apologist of a fucktard.

That was one of those fights where I root for lots of casualties. Lamont is a champagne socialist, but at least he’s right on the war. Lieberman is no economic conservative (being slightly right of Lamont isn’t saying much), but he’s been pro-war, and still is. Good riddance, and let’s hope the anti-war cause gets even more of a boost now.

Looks like they’ve just handed CT to the GOP this fall. It’s hard to unseat an incumbent. Doing it in the primary is just *dumb*.

Disagree. Do let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.
