Looking down the barrel…

points out that there’s a solar storm coming. I went to SOHO to get the real deal: BOOM!!

Possible aurora activity Thursday night, even into the southern US, as this was an X3 class burst. Oh, I’ll be out there watchin’… the only time I’ve seen an aurora was in the 80s, from directly underneath. It had wandered all the way south to Toledo, and all I saw was a horizon to horizon red plasma… which was pretty frickin’ awesome in and of itself, but I would like to see a “proper” aurora for a change.

We were partly cloudy… in that every part of the sky had a cloud in it. As soon as the sun came up, the clouds vanished.

      Sometimes, I hate Ohio.
