And every day is a record.

Happy 30th birthday, Voyager II (for whatever reason, Voyager I was launched second…). NASA poses, on their internal blog, the question of “What would one item from the last 30 years would you add to the Golden Record?”

My addition was a detailed spectrum of the sun so that any finding civilization would have the data necessary to locate our star and know not only that they were not alone, but where someone else was. Even if they haven’t got fast interstellar travel, even if they haven’t found a loophole around the speed of light, they would know where to point their radiotelescopes, where to direct their “hello”…

Part of me thinks that’s a great idea, the other part of me has seen “To Serve Man” once too often.

Was rereading some HoIF this morning in order to help someone write a Chamber scene for LW. Damn, we were good.

Funny you should mention, I was re-reading Vanguard, specifically “Archangels: Calvary” last night. :) Da-yamn, we were good!

I understand your reasons for letting it go, but I really wish HoIF were still active. It’s no fun to play with Marc and Garry if no one else is around…

Oh, and re: ‘To Serve Man’ — I am not a great believer in technology being able to beat Einstein, so I think the most that would come of that would be a long-distance phone call. :)
