Well, that about says it all.

I know that online polls aren’t really reliable for anything, but I still find it amusing that even the wingnuttiest of the wingnuts, the John Birch Society, think the Shithead-In-Chief should be impeached. This from last year, not sure when, stumbled across it while Wiki’ing around.

That’s the fun thing about Wiki–just idly clicking links in a free-associative way. I went in to look up something on the non-Canon Gospels, and ended up there, after a few hours of random wandering.

non-Canon gospels? Like the Gospel of Thomas or the gospel of Judas? Very cool.

Among others, yeah. Most of them seem to have a Gnostic bent, tho, which I find philosophically unappealing. I just can’t get behind the idea that ‘matter is evil’.

Were you by any chance watching “The Daily Show” last night? Jon Stewart’s guest was Bart Ehrman, author of Misquoting Jesus, a book about what things got put into ( and left out of ) “The Bible”, and how with a little research one finds that it is a far less uniform document than most fundamentalists would have you believe. Sounded like it could be interesting, as long as one is not the sort to go ballistic at the mere suggestion that the Bible might not be the pure and infallible “word of God”.

No, actually, I missed that last night. I don’t even remember what it was that set me off scurrying to the excluded books. I know it was a grand way to burn several hours. :)

When your own natural supporters start to question your actions, its perhaps time to call it a night.

Birchers are a species of wingnut unto themselves. I suspect they haven’t ever approved of an American president, of either party.

Ohh and yeah, the John Birch society is like totally into the US being a police state, what are they upset with the Le Idiot about?

Surprisingly enough, the war in Iraq (they’re the strictest of isolationists, denouncing any sort of foreign intervention) and the so-called “Patriot” Act.
